Park Theatre – Riding Mountain, Manitoba!

Why it’s Awesome:

It’s a BIG LOG CABIN!!!

The largest log cabin theatre in the world! Designated a Heritage building in 1995.

 Look at this ceiling!

They played music before the movie!  This is something theatres used to do when I was a kid, but not anymore. Today this one played music from the Star Wars Soundtrack. Brilliant!

It’s another theatre with a cool history!  It was built in 1936 and officially opened in August 9, 1937. The government helped with the build to give people work during the hard times of the 30’s (EMERGENCY RELIEF FUNDING). So, the largest log cabin theatre in the world may have been built due to the depression.

There’s a pamphlet with all this info and more!

Look at these cool old seats!  Red sure was a popular colour! But then all beige on the back and sides.

Cool theatre lights!

Decent popcorn and reasonable prices!  No combos here, you just say what you want. But you won’t freak out at the price tag!

This is extra impressive because most stuff in Wasagaming is not cheap.

Other stuff:Cool stuff on the wall!

Look at this door!

Should you go?  YES! The Park Theatre in Wasagaming in Riding Mountain National Park is awesome!
